Kittycentric Jumbo Cat Litter Mat Product Review

As you may recall, we previously reviewed the Kittycentric Cat Caves – and when I enjoy working with a manufacturer – and when I like the product we have reviewed, I always ask if there is anything else we can review.

Kittycentric responded saying that they had come out with a a Kittycentric Jumbo cat litter mat. Ironically, just a few weeks before, one of our readers had asked me about a cat litter mat that did a good job with litter scatter, but didn’t need to be lifted like the WooPet mats. As she pointed out (and I ignorantly didn’t think of), not everyone can pick up a cat litter mat to dump the old litter back into the litterbox. So, she was looking for one that you can vacuum off.

The Kittycentric Jumbo Cat Litter Mat is that one. It will help to keep your litter box area clean by collecting the litter scatter until you can get to it with a vacuum. I used both my Oreck upright vacuum and my Hoover hand held vacuum to clean off the litter. The mat didn’t tear or rip when I ran the rotating brush of the Oreck over it. You could pick up the mat too, and shake it – but it definitely isn’t as lightweight as the foam-like cat litter mats we have reviewed. The mat weighs 6.4 pounds, but it’s more the size of it that makes it harder to pick up and shake off like the other mats we have reviewed.

This mat is really BIG! It measures 47.5 x 36 x 0.4 inches.

Non-Toxic Material

The mat is made of a patent pending non-toxic (bpa and phthalate free) rubber textured pvc mesh that is super soft on your feet (and kitty’s paws too, I’d imagine). I really like walking on it. Ha.

They do make their Kittycentric cat litter mat in a smaller size – the Kittycentric Extra Large Mat is their smaller version. It’s equally as durable, effective and non-toxic (bpa and phthalate free)!

I wasn’t expecting to like this cat litter scatter mat as much as I did. I was impressed with it’s ability to retain litter scatter (please listen to the audio of our final review video below to hear what I have to say about litter scatter vs. cat litter mats), loved how it feels on my feet and also really like the look of it! I think it could definitely be used in other areas of my house – like the back door to collect general debris I might bring into the home. It is definitely a versatile mat. And my cats never had a problem with it. Charlie does not, however, try to scratch on it like he does the other mats we have reviewed.
