This summer, Charlie, Trigg and I headed down to my parents’ lake house for a fun weekend with Caymus, Muprhy, my sister, her fiancee and my parents. I decided to bring the Litter Robot with me – it rode in my passenger seat.
When I got home, I decided to give it another thorough cleaning (since the last one) because I hadn’t done it in awhile – and even though it is a self-cleaning litter box, it still needs some TLC every now and again. I mean, it’s processing pee and poop on a daily basis, for pete’s sake!
Litter-Robot recommends that you wipe it down every month or so, depending on the frequency of use. And then a couple of times a year, they suggest this deep cleaning of the Litter-Robot like I have done in the video below.

Cleaning the Litter Robot – My First Time:
Replace the Carbon Filter
Another thing to consider changing or replacing is the carbon filter in the drawer – if that has had it’s life expectancy, then switching it out with a new one will help your Litter-Robot have no smell (as long as you have cleaned the rest of the unit). You can grab a new set of carbon filters on Litter-Robot’s website.
